Store Manager

Position Summary

The Store Manager serves as the leader responsible for bringing the Schaefer Outfitter brand vision to life in the store. This role is responsible for driving profitable sales, developing a high-performing retail team, and delivering an exceptional customer experience that reflects the heritage and authenticity of the brand.

As the leader of the store, the Store Manager builds and develops the team through hiring, coaching, training, and performance management. By leading daily operations, sales strategy, and talent development, the Store Manager creates a results-driven culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and delivering memorable customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Coach and mentor team members to improve sales skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and performance-driven team culture
  • Lead by example while modeling Schaefer Outfitter values and leadership standards

Business Performance & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the store business plan to drive profitable sales and achieve company goals
  • Monitor sales performance, key metrics, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage labor scheduling, payroll, and staffing levels to align with business needs
  • Maintain accountability for store profitability, controllable costs, and operational efficiency

Customer Experience

  • Ensure every customer receives an exceptional and authentic western retail experience
  • Build strong relationships that promote brand loyalty and long-term customer engagement
  • Lead the team in delivering service that reflects Schaefer Outfitter's craftsmanship and heritage

Operations & Store Management

  • Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and employment regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Finance, Marketing, and IT when needed
  • Manage store-level reporting, operational processes, and payroll approvals

Merchandising & Brand Standards

  • Lead merchandising strategies and product presentation that support sales and storytelling
  • Ensure the store environment reflects the quality and heritage of the Schaefer Outfitter brand
  • Execute floor sets, seasonal merchandising changes, and promotional events

Community Engagement

  • Plan and host in-store events that strengthen community connections and attract new customers
  • Represent Schaefer Outfitter within the local community and western lifestyle market

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a retail team to achieve strong sales performance
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer engagement skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and delegate tasks effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment and managing multiple priorities
  • Experience with POS systems and retail technology (Shopify)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or related software
  • Ability to learn payroll and scheduling systems such as When I Work and ADP

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of retail management experience required
  • Experience managing sales goals, payroll, staffing, and operational budgets preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the store and stockroom areas regularly
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs when needed
  • Frequent bending, squatting, and reaching when assisting customers or stocking merchandise
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Schedule

  • Full-time leadership role
  • Open availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

Sales Lead (Part Time / Full Time)

Position Summary

The Sales Lead plays a key role in supporting store leadership while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role combines sales leadership, visual merchandising, and operational support to ensure the store consistently reflects the Schaefer Outfitter brand and western lifestyle.

As a Sales Lead, you will serve as both a team leader and brand ambassador, helping drive sales performance, mentoring associates, and maintaining a store environment that reflects craftsmanship, authenticity, and the rugged spirit of the West.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support

  • Lead by example to motivate and support the sales team
  • Assist with coaching and training associates on customer service, sales techniques, and product knowledge
  • Provide feedback and guidance to help develop team performance

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional service that builds lasting customer relationships
  • Create an authentic western retail experience that reflects the Schaefer Outfitter lifestyle
  • Assist customers with product recommendations and styling

Sales & Business Performance

  • Help drive sales results by supporting store goals and initiatives
  • Encourage a results-oriented environment focused on customer engagement
  • Support management with sales tracking and reporting

Visual Merchandising

  • Maintain high visual standards for product displays and store presentation
  • Assist with floor sets, seasonal merchandising, and in-store events
  • Ensure the store reflects the brand's craftsmanship and heritage storytelling

Operations

  • Assist with daily store operations including POS transactions and inventory management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience with POS systems and basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Passion for western heritage, craftsmanship, and authentic customer connections

As a Sales Associate at Schaefer Outfitter, you will represent the proud tradition, craftsmanship, and rugged spirit that define our brand. You will help create an authentic western retail experience by delivering exceptional customer service, building meaningful relationships with customers, and supporting daily store operations.

Serving as a brand ambassador, you will share the story behind our products, assist customers in finding the right pieces for their lifestyle, and help maintain a store environment that reflects the quality and heritage of Schaefer Outfitter.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by helping customers find products that fit their lifestyle and needs
  • Share knowledge of Schaefer Outfitter products, materials, and craftsmanship
  • Build genuine relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat visits

Sales Performance

  • Support store sales goals through excellent service and product knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and results-oriented sales environment

Product Care & Merchandising

  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, stocked, and displayed
