The History
Tess Lackey is a printmaker working in Fort Worth, TX. Her early adult life was spent working on ranches where she would document western scenes as a self-taught graphite artist, until a printmaking class in 2018 completely shaped her artistic focus on reduction and relief printmaking techniques.
With a deep connection to the land, Tess creates work based on her surroundings. The location or region can often be identified within her works, while the narrative built around a place is romanticized from her own thoughts and feelings.

Created using reduction printmaking, layering six ink colors to capture the depth of the Texas landscape. Inspired by springtime in Fort Worth—rolling fields, longhorns, the wind rippling through the grass, and the iconic Stockyards' music scene.
Proudly home since 2017 and the cultural capital of the cowboy. Fort Worth brought us closer to those keeping Western tradition alive and pushes us to play our part in it.
