Schaefer Outfitter is cut to accommodate an active western lifestyle. Our outerwear is designed to wear layers underneath and features a riding sleeve. This means when you are actively riding, there is enough sleeve length built into the garment so that your wrist and forearm are not exposed to the elements. This same approach is also given to shirt sleeve and shirt tail length. Our vests are a little more fitted to provide a high performance insulative layer or stand-alone piece. Chest/Bust – Wrap a tape measure evenly around the fullest part under your arms or measure your favorite coat. Lay your coat completely zipped/snapped up, then spread and flatten out. Measure across the front of the coat 1” below the armhole seam. This measurement will then need to be doubled. For example a measurement of 22” is actually a 44” chest of your favorite coat.
Waist – Wrap measuring tape around your natural waistline, where you prefer the waist of your pants to hit. Place measuing tape flat and close to skin for best accuracy.
Inseam – Best taken from your favorite pair of pants, with your target length. Measure along the pant inseam from the crotch seam to the edge of bottom hem.
Sleeve Length – From the center back of your neck with your arm slightly bent, follow the tape down to the outside of your wrist bone or measure your favorite coat or shirt. Lay your favorite shirt or coat (buttoned/zipped up) face down on a flat surface. Make sure garment is completely flattened out. Measure from the center back point where the collar stand joins the back yoke to the end of the cuff.
Neck Circumference – Wrap tape around the base of your neck allowing room for comfort or measure the collar of your favorite shirt. Make sure the collar is completely flattened/straightened out prior to measuring.
Gloves – Measure around the knuckles with hand flat, thumb excluded, for normal size. Those at the lower end of a size who want a closer fit, order one size smaller. Those at the upper end of a size who want a looser fit, order one size larger.

Good looking jacket and nice material. The first one arrived with some inside sleeve irregularities and customer service handled replacing it quickly. We will see how rugged and long lasting it will be.

Fits perfectly and is very stylish.
Very warm, functional, and stylish enough to wear into town. Love all the pockets. This jacket flat stops the wind! I'm 6'1", 215 lbs. athletic build and I chose the XL and it's perfect. The ladies in the customer service department seem like they bend over backwards to help everyone and answer all questions. I would presume they are getting ready to roll out spring products. Better get one, even if it's for next year. Who knows how long they will be available. Great product and top of the line western outwear!!
